2015 BMW 640i M specs will be interesting for you in this article. Many manufacturers realized that Asian markets now offer a lot more chances of selling special edition cars or even upgraded models of those sold in the West and in order to meet that demand, BMW and Mercedes released this year at least one special edition model each. BMW is going to go a step further with the release of the BMW 640i M 2015 Performance Edition, a model based on the 640i which has a lot of added technologies and packages to it, making the car a bit more desirable as well as more collectable.
Unfortunately the car will only be launched in Japan and it will only be available in 10 units, meaning that BMW probably sold all of them by now despite the fact the car will not be released for at least a couple more months.
Exterior and Interior of 2015 BMW 640i M
The exterior of the 2015 BMW 640i M Performance Edition is where BMW spent the most amount of money on the car. Just like the name suggests, it comes with an all new front bumper from the M model with bigger air intakes, black dual-kidney grille, black headlights and fog-lights surroundings and black carbon fiber mirror caps. At the back there is a black chrome dual-exhaust system and a new M performance bumper as well as LED tail lights. A spoiler is not available for this model but it is not really needed due to its limited top speed. The wheels are unique 20 inch titanium-black rims with high performance tires which will be available on this color only for this model.
On the inside there is more of the same and BMW modified this limited run accordingly. There are new sport seats which should offer better comfort and support as well as a better driving position while the steering wheel is the same 3-spoke wheel from the M6 with the paddle shifters on it. Materials include Dakota leather on the seats and on the roof-lining while on the dashboard and doors there are wood accents as well as carbon fiber inserts which give the car a very premium feel. Unfortunately, the aluminum trimmings are not available for this special edition model.
Under the hood of the 2015 BMW 640i M Performance Edition there is the same engine as in the base version of the car, a 3 liter twin-turbocharged inline 6 which offers 316 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque, enough to make this massive ground tourer move quite fast. In fact, it is capable of getting to 60 MPH in just 5.4 seconds while its maximum top speed is limited to 135 MPH for the Japanese market. The car could easily achieve 155 MPH, all while not stressing the engine at all.
The engine is mated to an 8 speed automatic which should offer a slightly more aggressive gear change thanks to the M Package as well as a slightly better acceleration over the base model. Rear wheel drive is standard but all wheel drive is not available for this model. The fuel consumption is identical to the 640i with an expected 20 MPG in the city and around 29 MPG on the highway, mighty impressive for the power it has.
2015 BMW 640i M Price
The price of 2015 BMW 640i M for the Japanese market is around $88,000 which may seem like a lot but it is in fact only $10,000 more than the base version of the car and that is actually great value for money considering how much gear it has extra over the 640i. In the US, a model equipped only with the M Package and the 20 inch wheels would set the buyer back nearly $86,000 which is already very close to this special edition model.
