2016 Audi A4 interior, specs, redesign…- The current model of the A4 has been around since the late 2008 so it is quite an old model by today’s standards and it would definitely need an upgrade. Not too long ago Audi stated in a press released that a new car will be rolling out quite soon and it seems that the Audi A4 2016 might be launched at the end of 2015 while the market availability will start some time in the mid of 2016. The new model is expected to use an all new MLB II platform, meaning that in its construction there are going to be a lot more lightweight materials such as aluminum and composites that should reduce the total weight of the car by around 200 pounds which is actually very good.
Engine Specs of 2016 Audi A4
Under its hood there are going to be quite a few engines to choose from. In Europe there are going to be at least 4 different petrol engines as well as a couple of diesel units while in the US the new Audi A4 2016 will come with 2 petrol engines and no diesel offerings for starters which is a bit of a shame. The base model will come with an improved version of the 2 liter turbocharged inline 4 of the current model which this time is likely going to make close to 250 horsepower. There is also going to be a 3 liter supercharged V6 on the regular A4 which will make around 320 horsepower and this is going to be aimed directly at the BMW 340i.
The S4 will get the same engine but with more power and a different tune for the suspension system while the RS4 will get a newly developed twin-turbo V6 which should put out as much as 450 horsepower and a lot more than 400 lb-ft of torque. All of these will be offered with Audi’s 7 speed wet dual-clutch automatic and a standard quattro all wheel drive system.
Exterior and Interior of 2016 Audi A4
The exterior design will also change quite a bit from the previous model and despite the fact the 2016 Audi A4 will still resemble all the other models from the manufacturer, it will now borrow a lot more from the design of the Prologue concept car, so it should receive a more aggressive front end with a sharper grille and slimmer headlights while at the back it will get more of the same with a more angular design and less curves.
Inside the cabin on the other hand Audi will try to simplify things as much as possible so they are going to offer a fully digital instrument cluster that will offer the driver all the information it needs from the rev counter all the way up to the navigation system. The 8 inch display in the dashboard will serve as the control center for the infotainment system as well as an internet access point while most of the controls from the dashboard are going to be moved in Audi’s MMI system.
2016 Audi A4 Price
Other changes are going to include an all new design for the exterior of the car, a new interior with more technology as well as better materials as well as new or improved engines. All of these should make for a good upgrade from the previous model and it should allow Audi to further compete with the BMW 3 Series or the new C-Class, both being new on the market. The price will actually change quite a bit mostly because Audi will market the A4 as a more premium car than before. That’s also because the A3 was dangerously close to it so they decided to improve the larger A4 and give it a new base price of around $40,000. This trend of increasing the price will continue to the other models of the 2016 Audi A4.
